Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026
In short
Hanzi Glance does not collect, store or share any personal data. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.
What stays on your device
- Your study progress, review history, favorites, badges and settings.
- The words your widgets show, shared only between the app and its own widgets on your device.
- Reminders, which your device schedules; nothing is sent to us.
- Pronunciation, which uses your device’s built-in Mandarin voice.
Deleting the app deletes all of this. Your device’s own backups (such as iCloud Backup) may include it, according to your device settings.
Exporting your progress
If you choose Export progress, the app creates a backup file and hands it to the share sheet. Where it goes (Files, AirDrop, email…) is up to you. We never receive it.
Reporting a problem (optional)
If you tap a report flag and continue, the app opens a Google Form with the details of the report filled in: the word (its characters, pinyin and meaning), the kind of problem, your answer in a quiz, your optional note and the app version. Nothing is sent unless you submit the form yourself. Submitted reports are stored by Google Forms under Google’s privacy policy and are used only to improve the app and its word list. Please don’t include personal information in the note.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply to you, and we don’t share them.
Children
Hanzi Glance is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
